Preview of My Unfinished Work — Shatterheart!

Hey guys! I know I’ve been gone a loooong time. I’ve been ill, so basically ended up taking a month off. It was a month I could sore afford to lose, but hey–I’m better now. :D

Anyway, to celebrate (and to make up for the fact that I haven’t been around), I decided to post a 50-page sample of the story I’m working on right now. Shatterheart is an adult romance (though these chapters are pretty tame) that I’ve variously described as “a weird take on Beauty and the Beast” and “two people in a room, pretty much loathing each other.” Compared to my previous work it’s more emotional and character driven. I’m enjoying it a lot!

If I had to jot off some flap copy right now, I guess I’d say this: “In the Kingdom of Sidera, automatons are common–but there are none are like Alisabeth Canwick. Uncannily lifelike, talented and intelligent, this sparkling plaything of the elite bears an enormous secret… a soul of her very own. Yet, her position in life is precarious, as her creator is dead and her rights are nonexistent. When Etruscan Maldron, the man she was created for, finally gets her under his thumb, Alisabeth fights back with everything she has… until she realizes that, like it or not, she may need him to survive. Etruscan is a bitter, twisted man who claims to love her in spite of her inhumanity. But is it love, or just obsession?”

You can find the PDF here. Happy reading!

I love this so much! I can’t wait till it’s completed and we can all read the final book. Do you have any idea on a possible release date for the book? I’m dying to read more of Alisabeth and Etruscan <3
